Inv. 2801. Medal of Dr. David Hosack by Moritz Furst, struck at the United States Mint, c. 1830. Original striking in bronze, 34 mm.  Very nearly mint state, $250.

Dr. David Hosack (August 31, 1769 – December 22, 1835), a noted physician, botanist, and educator, is best known as the doctor who attended to Alexander Hamilton after Hamilton's deadly duel with Aaron Burr.
